The source of data representing local parks in this atlas is a compilation from an external vendor and may not contain all local parks within Wisconsin. Selection of the sale parcel will link to the DNR Real Estate Land sale pages for more information on the sale parcel. Most are open to public access however some may protect sensitive plant and animal communities and limit access and activities.
Wildlife Viewing Wisconsin abounds with wildlife! Informational tables are included for wildlife management areas with species presence, cover type, size, location and tips cross-referenced back to detailed maps at twice the scale of other atlases.
The DNR purchases land to manage and protect natural resources and to provide recreational opportunities to all the people of the state. Over the years, Wisconsin citizens have recognized the need to protect Wisconsin's natural resources and have provided the DNR with the ability and funding to purchase land.
We also want to better understand the different ways that readers use the atlas. While the county PDF maps are expected to be updated every two weeks, the atlas is required to be updated every two years. No, they are not available on this map.

The Program is a cost-share program that allows the Department to place large blocks of conservation easements on private forest land that may be threatened by subdivision to residential or commercial development. There are over 3, public boat access sites in Wisconsin, many provide vehicle and trailer parking areas, and some provide restroom facilities or cleaning stations.
Counties have been color coded to make identification easier. All this plus other public land information make this a hunting atlas like no other!
